I remember as a little girl my mom would always take my sister and I to go get our nails done when she’d go and that’s one of the best memories I have with them. I still go every now and then to get my nails done with my mom when we have time off together. Lately however, I haven’t had much free time to go pamper myself so I’ve been doing my nails myself. Although I wish I could be getting my nails done, I’ve been loving switching up my manicure every week to these gorgeous shades. I’m a neutral shade kinda gal but I love switching it up from time to time. I really had spring and summer in mind when I bought these shades and I’m obsessed.
Happy Friday! I’m so excited for a little bit of down time this weekend with family after having such a busy work week. I hope you all have a great weekend 🙂
In case you haven’t heard yet, the Sephora sale started yesterday and you can save 10-20% off any products depending on what type of Beauty Insider you are. If you’re not signed up (I can’t recommend it enough!) here is the link to sign up so you can shop and save 10% off your purchase via in store or online. Oh and the birthday gift options make it oh so worth it.
I went today since I had a gift card I’ve been wanting to use plus what better time than when they’re having a sale 🙂
I’m starting to get really into skincare lately so I wanted to try out some new products that focus on helping my skin glow. I picked up this glow serum, this pore stick, this skin tint and I can’t wait to try them all out. My favorite thing about Sephora is that they have an amazing return policy so for instance if a product doesn’t work for you or wrong shade, etc. they will take it back and give you a full refund as long as you have your receipt and it’s no more than halfway used.
The sale ends this Monday 5/6 so there is still time to shop the sale if you haven’t already!
Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend ♥
My beach trip may have come to an end after just one day but the blog content keeps coming haha. I always make sure I carry everything I’ll be needing in my bag. I love to take either a book or magazine to read while I get my tan on. Also I have to carry SUNSCREEN! SPF protection is so important in helping to prevent a sunburn as well as skin cancer. So everyone please always remember how important wearing sunscreen is. I also carry other things like a portable charger, chapstick, lotion and my AirPods. In my beauty bag I carry face wipes, collagen serum, moisturizer, deodorant, and more chapstick.
I hope you all enjoyed my beach content 🙂 This spring break has flown by and I’m not ready to get back into school.
I have lots of plans for this weekend that I’m really looking forward to. Plus a lot of great spring outfits are going to be on the blog next week so come back and check it out ♥
Hi beauty babes!!! Over the last couple of weeks I’ve gotten really into beauty products as I’m starting to develop a Spring makeup routine. I’ve picked up some things I’ve already loved forever and new things I’m already falling in love with.
Lately my pores have been so bad and have been ruining my makeup looks, so I set out to find a pore filling primer that could be a solution to my problem and I found a winner. I went back and forth on if I should pay a visit to Sephora or Ulta but I ended up on Amazon and found this one. After reading several amazing reviews I decided to pull the plug and try it out, plus I couldn’t beat the $13 price tag.
Everyone knows I’m super pale and even though I spend hours in the sun, I never get any type of tan sadly. So to combat this, I decided to try out self tanner. I’m so tempted to buy real self tanner but I want to just try out something that will give me enough color to decide if it’s something I really want to do. I picked up this gradual tanner two weeks ago and I’m loving the tan glow it has been giving me.
I’ve been in the market for a good concealer and I always see Tarte shape tape as the #1 rated concealer but almost $30 for a concealer is a deal breaker for me. After reading a bunch of reviews on this one, I decided to give it a try. The coverage and blendibility is the best for any concealer I’ve ever tried.
Tying back to my love for matte lip shades, I love to pair any matte with a glossy shine that will kind of fade away but still leave my lips looking matte + glossy. This balm does this and I love that it provides the slightest shade of color so my lipstick shade doesn’t get altered.
This has been my go-to lipliner for years and it is the bomb.com!! The shade natural beige matches my natural lip color perfectly but is a tad bit darker to make my lips appear bigger and fuller when applied. It took forever to find the best lipliner shade for myself and I’m so happy I found this one.
That’s all for my current beauty buys but I’m sure I will have a bunch of new products I’m loving, really soon so stay tuned for that 🙂
I have a bunch of new things coming in from Amazon today and I’m so excited to share what I got with you guys. I hope you all have an amazing Wednesday ♥
How many of you wash your makeup brushes weekly as you should? I’m gonna guess not a lot of you do, kinda like me. There’s something about cleaning that just turns me off. However, I really love seeing dirtiness go away! I’ve recently gotten into the habit of washing my makeup brushes once a week after reading this article and going on a search to find a brush cleaner, which is how I found this silicone dish scrubber and loved it because I knew the small bristles in the sponge would be perfect for cleaning my brushes. Similar to the Sigma brush cleaning mat, this one helps reach every little nook in the brushes to give them a deep clean. This 5 pack of sponges is only $9 making each one just $1.80 each!!! With these you can use some for the dishes and the others for cleaning your makeup brushes.
Here’s how I clean my brushes…
First, I start off with lukewarm water, not hot water because the heat can make the glue go away and you’ll end up with the brush falling apart. I then take a small amount ofthis brush shampoo cleanser on the silicone pad and I began rubbing in my brush in circular motions. Immediately you will begin to see the makeup coming off and washing away under the sink. When you’re cleaning them you will realize just how much product gets left behind on your brushes and so much bacteria begins to produce 24/7. This is why it’s extremely important to clean your brushes on a weekly basis, even the ones you rarely use! After washing each brush, I lay them flat on a clean towel to dry overnight. In the morning I wake up and swirl them into the towel just to get out any dampness left behind and voila thats it ♥
I hope you all found this post helpful and serves as a reminder to always clean your brushes!
Do y’all have any plans for the weekend? It looks like we’ll be getting rain this weekend so I might have to rethink any plans I may have made. But all is well because I have lots of homework and studying to do 🙂
We live an era where contour and highlight have become the center of the makeup industry. For me personally I’ve always gone for a light glam look. I’m not one to contour because I’ve always found it to be a bit intimidating. I’ve dabbled into bronzing my face but I never was super satisfied with the look. After wearing makeup for several years now and through lots of trial and error, I’ve finally found the best makeup routine for myself.
Step 1:Prep The Skin
Before applying my makeup I began by moisturizing my face with the Ole Henriksen Oil Control Hydrator. I have really oily skin and this line has helped minimize my oil levels so much. Next, I prime my skin with the Nivea Post Shave Balm. I discovered this product after NikkieTutorialsshared it on her youtube channel years ago. This has been the best primer for me in making my makeup last all day. I use a foundation brush to apply the primer & my hands to apply moisturizer.
I hope you all enjoyed a peek into my makeup routine and even find it useful if you’re like me and love simple makeup looks.
How was your guys’ weekend? If you follow me on Instagram you may know that on Wednesday last week I sprained my ankle at the gym and then to top it off I woke up with a bad ear infection the next day. So I was at home resting and getting better but now I’m back to work today and school tomorrow. I hope you all have a wonderful week 🙂
When it comes to hair I’m definitely no expert but I do have some things that work well for my hair and may even help you ♥
So first off, I have virgin hair (meaning I have never dyed it) plus I don’t use much heat on it unless I need to. I have really thick hair which can be such a hassle to deal with and often times irritates me especially in the summer! Ever since middle school, each summer I cut my hair to shoulder length to avoid the constant headaches and “rats nests” from forming at the back of my head. Since I only cut my hair about once a year it grows out a lot. This post by Allure is great for figuring out when a haircut might be best for you.
I have naturally straight hair so there is so many ways I can style it and for that I’m so blessed (thanks mom & dad!). My favorite things to do to style it up, is to braid it every night and wake up with beachy waves, curl it, and straighten it out to get rid of any creases from a ponytail. I’ve used almost every hot tool out there to get curls and my favorite is with my straightener! I know its bad to apply so much heat on both sides with this tool but the curls I get are my absolute favorite. They can either come out tight or loose and last for 2-3 days, which is great cause I dread having to wash my hair.
When I don’t style up my hair with heat I love to find cute ways to wear it with either a braid or cute hair accessories like the bow shown in the picture above. I also love these headbands here & here.
When it comes to washing my hair I love drugstore brands and some high end salon ones as well. However, I stick more to the drugstore ones since it’s more convenient to just pick them up on a quick Target or Walmart run. Recently I fell in love with the OGX brand of shampoos and conditioners. I picked up the Mistletoe Kisses Shampoo for the scent but stuck with the Bonding Plex Conditioner to help repair my hair. I’ve noticed a change in my hair over the last few weeks and a huge difference is that my hair is no longer getting oily after just one day. I’m now able to wash my hair three times a week with a few sprays of this dry shampoo here & there when needed.
I believe that great hair will take you far in life and in order to have great hair, you have to maintain it in a healthy way that will look great when you’re 85 and not just when you’re in your 20s 🙂 I hope this post helps you out and maybe inspires you to take better care of your hair ♥
